On today’s episode Mike Langford shares some easy tips for promoting your Tweetworks groups.

But first some fun:

  1. Mike recognizes @TinaFey is an honorary member of the CanSuckIt group for her wonderful acceptance speach at the Golden Globes.
  2. Tweetworks is a finalist for a Shorty Award in the Apps category. We’d appreciate your vote. Please tweet: @shortyawards I vote for @Tweetworks in the Shorty Awards Finals for #apps because…you fill in the because here.

How to Promote Your Tweetworks Group:

  1. Tweet It: Tweet from your group, tweet about your group or use the “Tell people about this group on Twitter” Repitiion wins. Tweeting once isn’t giving your group much chance. Remember, your followers aren’t following you and they probably will miss your tweet about the new groups. So tweet it often. @GuyKawasaki says, “Tell the complainers where to go” “rest assured that Twitter spam is an oxymoron because following you is completely opt-in”
  2. TwitterPacks: List your group on TwitterPacks. Not everyone likes TwitterPacks and apparantly @rootwork hates @MikeLangford. :) But, people still use it as a resource to find other people who share common interests. Why not let them know where you are tweeting.
  3. Link To It: If you already have a blog or a website which you control, why not put a link to your favorite group(s) there for your visitors to find. Don’t be afraid to write a blog post about the group and link to some of conversations you’re having.
  4. Tell Your Community: Do you participate in another community on a Ning site or a Facebook group? Why not share a link to your group there?
  5. Direct Message: If you want to make sure certain people know you are tweeting in your group then send them a DM. As mentioned about, there’s no guarantee they’ll ever see you public tweets.
  6. Email Signature: If the group is really important to you or your business then take it a step further and add a link to your email signature.

Be excited about your group and you’ll find others who’ll share your excitement.

Oh yeah….Congratulations Jim Rice!
